Kelly Roupas is a math teacher at Wayne Memorial High School and a mentor to 13 students. Her mentees span grade levels, from Hank in ninth grade to Sarah, a senior.

Roupas has previously taught in Clarkston and Livonia, and she's taught at Wayne Memorial since 2010. She enjoys teaching freshmen and seniors, and she even teaches a seventh-hour credit recovery course after the regular school day.

This is Roupas' first year taking her mentees to Open Door Food Ministries, but she plans to go again in January. She's hoping that by giving their time to such a good cause, they will develop a sense of "being a part of a bigger picture" and the "benefits of contributing to society."

She was also recently named Wayne Memorial's Teacher of the Month for October!
